Expanded 22,000 sq. ft operating Central Utility Plant to accommodate new and existing hospitals. All equipment was removed and replaced while maintaining service, without interruption, to the existing hospital while the replacement hospital was being built.
CLIENT OBJECTIVES
Renovate and expand the existing central plant providing new energy efficient equipment for existing buildings and the new replacement hospital.
SCOPE OF WORK
Remove and replace three 400 horse power boilers, deaerator, flue gas economizers, two 1000 ton chillers, nine pumps, medical gas and vacuum systems, water softener system, and associated piping and equipment.

Marelich Mechanical was instrumental in the planning, sequencing, tie ins and execution of the removal of the old equipment and replacement with new energy efficient equipment and piping systems while maintaining continuous service to the existing buildings and hospital while the replacement hospital was being built.
BACKGROUND
A new hospital was needed to comply with the latest codes and standards. A five story 450,000 square foot facility with 241 patient beds, an expanded emergency department, conference center and a complete central plant expansion with a budget of $480 million.
